If you missed last week’s email and have no idea what this about, see the email below. I sent it out last Thursday and someone emailed me requesting to see the strut in action…
LAST THURSDAY’S EMAIL:
Today’s message is short and simple.
If you are a business owner, I can pretty much guarantee you are MUCH more conscientious when it comes to berating yourself for your errors than you are about congratulating yourself when you do well.
The importance of celebration can’t be overstated. It rewires your brain to reinforce your successful behaviours… and it makes you feel good. And that was one of the big reasons for going into business in the first place, wasn’t it? So you can enjoy your life?
Stopping to breathe in your wins is one of the most important skills you will ever develop.
My advice is to come up with a celebration routine that becomes a habit for you any time you hit a sales target or achieve something worthy of mention. Treat yourself – whatever that means to you. Listen to some music, take a little break, have your favourite lunch. Whatever works for you. Just do something to mark the win.
I strut so hard the house shakes.
Try it, you might just like it. And if you need a good tune to strut to, this is the one:
PS – The reality of me strutting around the house is as idiotic as it looks in your imagination. This is all light-hearted fun but I’m deadly serious about the importance of celebrating your successes. Commit to it. It’s vital.
